冬の鎮魂曲~Reworked Pt IV

Okay, so far so good. The new chapter for A Requiem From Winter Past is going nicely. It feels utterly weird to hear myself saying this, but... I've got this impression that despite ages of not using it, my ability to do erotica is still there. That's some scary thing.

At the same time, I hit... sort of a meltdown (or something like that) after reading this. The reason why my raw nerve got hit big time (like how the head managed to langah the pantat recently) was that the educational system has never given me a semblance of self-identity. I really hated the fact that I felt like a condemned criminal with no one to help me by trying to understand me. All I got was sneering, bullying, a distance between me and the rest of the world which couldn't be narrowed... I don't fault my teachers, I also know there were people in my class which were never malicious to start with. Yes, those who wronged me, I have forgiven. But there's no way for me to forget. Because I realised my brain isn't that normal. Which is why certain memories have stayed with me till now, even as early as kindergarten. If you think having a long memory is a blessing, then you're wrong. More oft than not, it's a curse. I still remember the names of my oppressors from Gan Eng Seng to ITE Dover. Thankfully, I don't have an unforgiving personality.

Not so thankfully, however, is the fact that education (together with parental guidance) is still worth the square root of sod all when it comes to this. Trust me, you wouldn't like the idea of army porn if you're a feminist. At least that's how I see it.

Thankfully, I've calmed down. At the same time, this article made me wonder whether I was fifty steps too late. Either way, I've got nothing to lose anyway. It's like being Emiya Shirou. No other way out, only one way forward.

All by myself, step by step, forever forward and never retreating. Perhaps my life really mirrors that of Archer.

Right now, I'm on the final lap of the current chapter. Suffice to say, I do see it as something quite shocking. Given that I'm always a Brother Grimm guy rather than the typical Singaporean who is pro-Disney, it should say something.
Okay, it's not really that bad. I mean what I've done, not the Linux killall.
Before that, a song composed by yours truly...
As a character, it doesn't matter that Kagetsu no Hyo'Ah is... well, officially dead. What matters more is the fact that BoA is her image blueprint. Actually, Hyo'Ah is a reference to my past as a BoA fanboy when I was serving my NS@32 SIB (forget about searching for it since it's as dead as Windows 2000).

Why I'm mentioning this is very simple. Let me show a clip first, then I'll show you my composed song.
Lyrics

And now for my song...
The wolf, the lion, a maiden fair
A dirge for those alive
A child deprived of warmth and love
His laughter against death

The wolf, the lion, a maiden fair
A dirge for those alive
A boy who dreams to be a man
A life saved, yet no more.

The wolf, the lion, a maiden fair
A dirge for those alive
The dragons gone, yet one still lives
Her life, her love, her path

Believe it or not, I even came up with a tune. Apparently, my day job doesn't distract me from my random creativity. 😁
Four different classes, choose your poisoned chalice
It feels absolutely weird doing this part. This is due to Marvel Heroes Omega and Marvel Avengers Alliance getting the shutdown. The whole class type system happened to be the other common ground. That's why I said it feels absolutely weird doing this part. Either way, I'm not that crazy to create too much class types like Marvel Heroes Omega. Rather, it's going to be like Marvel Avengers Alliance. The four classes list as below:

Skilled in combat under any condition, Fighters are able to deal and take damage in equal measure.
Class bonus: 1% damage bonus per point in Strength; 0.5% critical chance bonus per point in Resolve; 10% critical damage bonus; +0.5% damage resistance per level up.
Usable weapons: Any
Usable armour: Any

Instigators do not fight like soldiers, for their role lies in strategy and pulling the strings at the back.
Class bonus: 1% damage bonus per point in Wit; 4% critical damage bonus per ally; 20% critical chance bonus for all allies; +0.5% Focus gauge increase speed per level up.
Usable weapons: Light or medium
Usable armour: Light or medium

Skirmishers rely on movement and cunning to make every attack count.
Class bonus: 1% damage per point in Dexterity; 2% critical damage bonus per point in Wit; 10% critical chance bonus: +1% critical chance per level up.
Usable weapons: Light or medium
Usable armour: Light

Defenders are all about holding the tide at bay. Hence, the highest emphasis placed on defence.
Class bonus: 1% damage bonus per point in Strength; 2% Adrenaline gauge increase whenever holding ground; 15% defence bonus; +0.5% maximum hit points per level up.
Usable weapons: Medium or heavy
Usable armour: Heavy

Fighting style
Every character has a class, every character has a fighting style as well. Like the class system, there are only four fighting styles. After all, I don't work for Gazillion.

Swift
This style involves fast attacks to wear down the opponent. At the same time, opponents can be felled in one a single stroke fast and lethal. It is all about ruthless aggression rather than sheer pace, a concept many see as the other way round until it's too late.
Style requirements:
1. Must have at least a score of 10 in Dexterity.
2. All four classes qualify for this style.

Style properties:
Fast attack deals 3% more damage per hit.
Heavy attack deals 25% less damage but will deal bonus damage according to the amount of Focus built up (bonus is equivalent to the percentage of the Focus gauge filled).
Whenever holding ground, default chance of auto-parry is set at 35% instead.
Attacking speed increases by 0.5% per point in Dexterity.

Guard
This style involves the perfection of defensive arts. Never one to focus on attack, opponents would find it hard to devise a way past a barrier seemingly impregnable. Be it with shield or weapon, it is all about minimum movement, maximum efficiency, and the best counter-offensive possible.
Style requirements:
1. Must have at least a score of 10 in Strength.
2. Only Fighter or Defender can qualify for this style.

Style properties:
0.5% damage resistance per point in Wit.
Any attack dealt via a successful parry will automatically deal half damage instead of just hitting automatically.
30% automatic parry chance.
Whenever holding ground, auto-parry will trigger an automatic attack. However, this attack is only counted as an automatic hit, not any form of auto damage.

Nimble
Like the Swift style, this style relies on reflexes. However, it relies more on movement and less on making every attack count. As such, it is considered a defensive style, a concept many have gotten wrong.
Style requirements:
1. Must have at least a score of 12 in either Dexterity or Wit.
2. Only Skirmisher can qualify for this style.

Style properties:
1% damage resistance per point in Dexterity and 0.5% damage bonus per point in Wit if wearing light armour.
1% damage resistance per point in Wit and 0.5% damage bonus per point in Dexterity if wearing medium armour.
20% automatic dodge chance.
Whenever holding ground, gain a flat 40% chance to automatically dodge instead. This dodge bonus cannot be modified in any way or form.

Tactician
Planning is half the battle, but the ability to improvise wins the war. Sailors man the ship, but the helmsman steers it to safety. Such is the difference between the exceptional and mediocre, be it in politics or warfare. This style combines the foresight of a strategist with the mental flexibility of a tactician. Truly the best friend of every king. Or the worst foe possible depending on where the loyalty lies.
Style requirements:
1. Must have at least a score of 14 in Wit.
2. Only Instigator can qualify for this style.

Style properties:
1% damage resistance bonus for all allies per point in Wit.
2% critical chance bonus per point in Wit if no allies are present.
15% automatic dodge chance.
20% automatic parry chance.

Profession
Profession should be a concept that is straightforward. If you say you're a radiographer, it means people should know what you do for a living. If I say I work as a porter (which is indeed the case), it means I'm a manual labourer (because I can't be bothered with political correctness). If someone says "I'm a ranger", it means... well, this guy below.

'Tis a tragedy to see the men of Singapore becoming like the firstborn son of Denethor.
A tragedy mirroring that of King Lear, one may say.
Hence dare one proclaim Boromir of Gondor was indeed a better man than the mirror of Beren?

Profession confers bonuses as well. In fact, profession is the only source of utility stats bonus.

Additional traits (aka Unique Traits)
This is a system where individual characters possess... well, individual traits in-game. Such traits offer both passive and active bonuses. Since Aeravor is the default PC, it means I'll need to do something here.

And by "something", I mean a PC who is anti-PC

Next up: I may need to do some explanation where going full-auto is concerned. At the same time, I hope to flesh out Aeravor's PC bio. Quite obviously what you see above is not the end. In fact, I've dragged this bloody post for too damn long and I still need to finish the latest chapter of A Requiem From Winter Past.

Apparently, CD Projekt Red is to be blamed for my ever-increasing hunger for creating ideas.
Also, it feels weird seeing a decent number of Polish hits for this blog. Weird. Really.
