ネバーウィンターの勇者伝説~Concepts of something already existent [Mk XI]

It's official. The Korean nuking has gotten from bad to worse. Because the sister of Le Connaisseur d'Singapour is hell-bent on doing free (?) endorsements for the 문화체육관광부, my internet is effectively in erratic mode. As erratic as Kim Pyong-yang if I say so myself.

Latest update: It's official. My sis has knackered my internet with her Korean nukes again. No thanks to her divine intervention in the name of Cyric, my last Dragonflight run was brutally knackered. Apparently, Kelemvor is still being hated. Hence, his Chosen (i.e. Arylos) being the constant target.

Add update: Like how my sister is entitled to the right to use her Korean nukes without truly understanding the consequences (read: Streaming videos can really knacker your online gaming experience), I'm also entitled the right to nuke her FB timeline with my talent together with collateral casualties. After all, I'm the Steve Jobs of the Kuok family (i.e. I can get away cleanly with this).

Then again, all is not lost...
The thing is this: Unlike me, my sis has a stable job at DSTA. Unlike my sis, I'm a proven Le Connaisseur d'Singapour.
Unlike me, my sis has a good paying job. Unlike my sis, I'm a proven talent in creativity.

And yes, unlike my sis, I'm somewhat of a Guo Jia, Zhang Liang, and Harry Potter Lovecraft.

Which means one thing: My dream job is a far greater deal than a degree holder's job at DSTA.
Dream job option 1: To be the Guo Jia/Zhang Liang to Aitor's Cao Cao/Liu Bang
Dream job option 2: To be the author of A Requiem from Winter Past.
Dream job option 3: To work alongside Sakaguchi-san.

For now, however, I'm not gonna endorse The Legend of the Blue Sea.
The reason why being that I need music therapy...

Before I start...
I decided to rethink my decision to halt the relevance between Neverwinter Online and the Neverwinter Six at the Sea of the Moving Ice. The reason being that whatever promise made by the devs gameplay-wise is too tantalizing. So tantalizing, I decided to push the boundary of my creativity so as to speak. Sakaguchi-san, are you reading this now?

A/N: Also, I'm wondering if there will be any divine intervention coming from Mystra for this next mod. After all, she's officially back. Just don't ask Kelemvor for his response.

I really need to choose a period of time to pen down the lyrics for this song above...

The ranger class: Paragons, progression, and prestige class
The good thing about Chinese New Year is this: I can afford to stay up till 4 am or so doing the things I like/want/can. However, this also means I may have to do the same for tomorrow despite having work come the day after. Don't ask me why the Kuok family is cursed with the jerkass DNA.

Progression list

Note on feats and spells
There are three types of feats. Namely, class feats, paragon class feats, and heroic class feats. Class feats is the bread and butter of any build while paragon class feats are feats specific to your selected paragon class. As for heroic class feats, they are basically your end-game feats available at level 40 (read: maximum character level cap 60).

Unlike at-will and encounter powers, feats can only gain rank via character level progression. There are three stages to any given feat: Normal, Improved, Mastery. Once your character reaches level 20, however, you will gain 1 feat point per every 4 class level gained.

Note: Paragon and heroic feats only have 1 rank.

Add note: Not all class feats are exclusive to the given character class. Some of them are also available to other classes. In other words, I'm too lazy to complicate things.

List of ranger spells
Unlike any spellcasting class, the ranger can only have a fixed set of spells to choose from. However, these spells will grow more powerful via spell level progression.

Next up: Basically, there should be no excuses next time round concerning the feats, paragon classes, and prestige classes.

[冬の鎮魂曲] Eins

Recently, I asked myself some questions concerning my sister. You see, she's not the kind of person to run after Korean shows. When she first fell in love with Running Man, I realized her jumping on the bandwagon was arguably more than a wee overdue. After all, the show has been running (pardon the pun) for a few years already. As if Running Man wasn't enough for her, she decided to watch another Korean show.

Come to think of it, The Legend of the Blue Sea wasn't the reason why I felt something was amiss. Rather, it's due to what I've said about her Running Man.

Which now comes to...

Above video is basically sung by a fan rather than the original deal. The fact that Shikata Akiko is a woman basically says it all. Don't bother trying to find the original. It got taken down. However, the rest of Shikata-san's songs remained intact on YouTube. So why only Thrylos? Possibly it's due to...

1. Thrylos is too great a song to ignore. Which means too many people were guilty of visiting websites offering video ripping service. Which now comes to...

2. The presence of an accidental connoisseur. Before I started sharing the original song on my now defunct That Random Blade blog, everything was peaceful. After I did the unthinkable, people started doing their own unthinkable.

3. It's not just Thrylos getting that YouTube copyright claim statement. Period.

So what it means is this:

1. Someone was guilty of inducing my sister into the Running fandom. I suspect it's my super mignonne legal housebreaker.

2. It's also possible that the 문화체육관광부 desired to get my accidental endorsement (basically free of charge). Unfortunately for them, there's no way for them to contact me in the name of striking a deal. In other words, go get the sister of Le Connoisseur d'Singapour.

To those at the MCST, please don't say I never give your country face...

A/N: Of course, chances are that I'm actually born abnormal. After all...
...we're both crazy. I mean me and Lovecraft, not me and my super mignonne legal housebreaker.

Lyrics
Let's see if I will score another accidental casualty in the name of copyright claim.
Also, I find some shocking parallels between me and Victorique de Blois. Perhaps the Gray Wolf lineage isn't that fictional after all...

Also, I'll be doing my customary tagging game for the written chapters of the original work. This is in case the entire Kuok clan is worried sick over my future concerning girlfriend and marriage.

Stuff I will do here...
I'll be doing the basic controls via the DualShock format. The reason why I choose Sony is very simple: I'm more familiar with the DualShock interface due me buying a PS2 during my NSF days.

[note from yours truly: Whatever you do, don't try modding your console. On one hand, technology has advanced by leaps and bounds. Secondly, doing stupid things in the past should not be seen as an excuse to break the law.]

At the same time, I'll try thinking on the go concerning the other aspects of gameplay. Before I start things off, however, allow me to up this meme below.

Basic controls
Left analog stick-Character movement (when outside combat)
Right analog stick-Camera zoom

D-pad-Character movement (during combat); browsing character menu.

Square button-Basic attack
Triangle button-Heavy attack (a more powerful version of basic attack)
Cross button-Trigger effect
Circle button-Toggle between Metallurgy and Thaumaturgy

L1-Metallurgy/Thaumaturgy power
R1-Same as above
L2-Self-heal
R2-Focus effect
L1+R1-Instant teleport to Yggdrasil
L2+R2-Normal teleport to Yggdrasil
L1+R1+L2+R2-Elegy power

Options-Open character menu

Start screen
Requiem from Winter Past
Answerer: Aeravor's story path. This is your default character path.
The Two Spears: Guy Cody's story path. Will unlock after fulfilling certain requirements during the Answerer story path.
Replica: Alestrial Eliaden's story path. Will automatically unlock after completing Act I~The Wolf, the Lion, and the Maiden Fair.

From the Age of Renown and Beyond
Songs from the Crucible: Stories of ancient heroes regaled by a random minstrel armed with a spear (then again, it maybe someone we know. Who knows?). In this mode, you'll be able to relive the legends defined by those of valour and wits.
Words from a Sage: Exploration of lore via the insignificant (?) presence of an old man living amongst the ruins of Napishtim where the Holy Quintet Church used to be there. In this mode, you'll be able to engage in a mini-game that looks like this. (note; Of course, this also means I'm not interested in receiving a letter from my fellow Singaporeans).

Yggdrasil to Avalon
Of Songs and Tales: Basically, this is where you configure various aspects of the game like button/control and difficulty level. Also, you can choose how the gameplay is done via three options. Namely, Quartermaster mode, Hoard mode, and Glory mode.
Of Memories and Memoirs: Allows you to watch once again the cutscenes defining the plot and characters. You can also replay certain stages via this mode. However, this is strictly for entertainment purposes. No rewards whatsoever, only replaying.

Boys to Men, Girls to Women
To Conceive: Create your own character. You should know what it means in gaming terms.
To Journey: Send your created character to a journey like never before! Okay, that's a lie. Your created character will only be participating in the events surrounding Requiem from Winter Past. Period.

Next up: I need to write up a treatise of strategy concerning my beloved Boro. After all, Gastón the Beast is now running the risk of becoming Gastón the... well, Gaston. Don't understand what I'm saying? Okay, never mind that...
ESRB level for this game?
Rated T unless you want the gameplay to be more realistic.
Rated M for violence, mature themes, and coarse language.
Yeah, I know I'm being a hypocrite...

ネバーウィンターの勇者伝説~Concepts of something already existent [Mk X]

Recent events concerning humanity have done something wondrous to my brain. Namely, a video adaptation of A Requiem from Winter Past [冬の鎮魂曲]. Basically, I've developed parts of the skeleton.

From now on, I'll be upping links of the previous posts in the name of convenience.

Note: The Roman number for 9 should be IX, not VIV. -.-'

An interesting note on the Neverwinter Six...
To be honest, trying to do the planning according to the Neverwinter modules is now looking like a case of infinite looping. There's no way I can force my creativity to play by external rules. Assuming that Sakaguchi-san is crazy enough to acknowledge my ideas, what it means is merely a case of all good games having their own ending. Which is why I decided to pull the plug so as to speak once The Sea of Moving Ice arc is over. However, this is not to say things will end at here. Maybe, maybe not.

Partial Recall
Originally, I planned to write down the class feats for the ranger class. Then I realized it's better to classify all the feats under one post. In other words, this is not a total recall. Rather, it's a partial recall.

A dummy's guide to spellcasting while armed to the teeth...
In D&D, there are two ways to cast a spell. Either you do it as a spell caster or you do it like a hybrid. When I say spell caster, I'm referring to 3 classes available: wizard, cleric, and warlock (note that more may come if there's really a sequel and that Sakaguchi-san really likes my ideas so much that he decides to work with me).

For spell casters, the D-pad works pretty much the same. Namely, inventory item usage. For a hybrid class like ranger and paladin, there's only a limited option in casting spells. Which means I'll need to find a way to accommodate the whole damn thing.

Inventory slots and spell slots
The idea is very simple. The D-pad will still be used for additional inventory items. This also includes stuff like throwing daggers and arrows. For the hybrid class, however, the D-pad will also be used to store spells. To do this, your character needs to be outside of combat. Press Options during the game and your inventory menu will pop up. Included in the list will be the spells available. Like inventory item, you can just slot your choice of spells by selecting (i.e. via the D-pad) and confirming (i.e. press any button). A message will then pop up asking whether you really want to slot this item/spell in. You can only reserve 1 inventory slot for spells this way.

Spell stacking
By selecting any spell for your inventory, it means you can only use that particular spell unless you choose to slot in another spell. To do so, however, your character needs to be out of combat.

Any spell slotted into the inventory can be used more than once so long it has at least 2 stacks. The amount of usage is basically the number of stacks available.

As your character progresses in level, more spell options will be unlocked. This, however, will not increase the number of inventory slots available for the spells.

Once all your spells have been used up, the empty slot will be automatically filled in by an item. To make this possible, you'll need to slot in the item before slotting in your spells.

Note: Options button can also be used to assign your powers outside combat.

Key stats for the ranger class
Dexterity (primary), Strength (secondary), Wisdom (secondary)

Note: Primary stats indicate the highest stat you get, no matter which class you choose. Secondary stats, on the other hand, tend to be either second highest or third highest rolled.

Add note: Because rolling a die requires luck more than anything else, there will always be that outside chance where a higher score will be rolled for any secondary stat instead of the primary stat.

Cooldown
At-will powers will not have any cooldown. Encounter powers, however, do have it. As for daily powers, it's the same as at-will powers. Because I'm too lazy to assign different cooldown timing across every encounter power, I might as well be lazy all the way.

Level 1 encounter power cooldown: 9 seconds
Level 20 encounter power cooldown: 12 seconds
Level 24 encounter power cooldown: 15 seconds
Level 28 encounter power cooldown: 20 seconds

List of daily powers available (Ranger)
Before I start, let me just say that I forgot how many daily powers are available for any character. Therefore, I decided to do a Total Recall by blowing up whatever I may have done previously (read: I'm going to set the number of daily powers available at 4. Please note that paragon daily powers are excluded because every paragon class will have only 1 daily power).

Note: Unlike at-will and encounter powers, daily powers will always stay at rank 1. At the same time, you can only choose one daily power to use during combat.

Add note: To pull off a daily power, the action point gauge need not be full. However, it will use up half of the maximum action points. Once your character's action point gauge is completely filled, any action triggered will not use up any of the action points unless a daily power is executed.

Level 1
Guardian Arrow:
[Damage type-Single target ranged; physical]
You let loose an arrow against target enemy. If you have an ally nearby, both you and that ally gains combat advantage for the next 5 seconds. [Combat advantage-Attacked opponent takes 4% more damage for every attacking ally including yourself]
Damage: 7400

Skirmishing Stance:
[Damage type-N/A; self-target buff]
You adopt a defensive stance relying on mobility. For the next 10 seconds, you gain +2 AC and +3 Reflex save. Your next attack will end the effect early. Damage dealt this way is counted as critical with +50% damage dealt.

Level 30
Ranger's Resurgence:
[Damage type-Single target ranged and melee; self-target buff]
For the next 5 seconds, you gain +2 AC and +20% movement speed so long you keep moving. If you hit an enemy with any at-will or encounter power in this way, that target takes twice the damage. All your encounter powers will be recharged immediately, after which the effect will end.

Gauntlet of Steel:
[Damage type-Multi target melee; physical; burst; mark]
Cutting through the enemy ranks, you attack every enemy within sight. Once Gauntlet of Steel ends, the highest level enemy damaged this way will be marked. If only one target is hit this way, duration of being marked will be increased.
[Burst-+10% critical chance]
[Mark-Any target being marked takes 20% more damage from you]
Damage: 8000 per hit

Next: Hope I can start doing the ranger paragon class next. Gotta sleep, got work tomorrow, 3+ in the morning now.

ネバーウィンターの勇者伝説~Concepts of something already existent [Mk IX]

Last evening, I decided on a new year resolution.

1. To finish the first arc of A Requiem from Winter Past.
2. To finish whatever outstanding stuff in my gaming concept design (read: The Neverwinter Six and Souls of Faerûn).

Therefore, I decide to start one thing at a time. Also, I need to do something about the Crucible label. Most likely I'll do an Arnie on the lore of the world where A Requiem from Winter Past is concerned. After all, I realised I may added too much details for the good of my own brain. *shrugs*

Guess I'll start with geography first. Namely Teutonia and the Furthest East.

Before I start displaying creative brilliance...
I'm going to do something from this post onwards. I'm going to tag my sister and a couple of my relatives. The intention is very simple: They're meant to be my guinea pigs. More specifically, my sis is to be that main guinea pig.

I don't really mind you all saying that I'm spamming other people's FB timeline. After all, the late Steve Jobs was both a genius and a jerk.

Above vid highlights the conflict of convenience amounting to the silence of a lamb...
Scarily enough, recent erratic performances on my PC internet may indicate something worse...

The purpose of being the Singaporean Victor (read: I'm referring to the scientist Victor Frankenstein of Mary Shelley's Frankenstein, not my sis' boyfriend) is very simple. For four years plus, I suspected that I've become famous globally. This was due to the fact that the Kuok clan may have witnessed a genius in their midst. At the very least, I'm a proven(?) genius in creativity. Because I'm out to ascertain whether I'm merely crazy or truly a mad genius like Vincent van Gogh and H.P Lovecraft, I need to press the buttons of those closest to me.
If nothing happens (i.e. no one in the family decides to interrogate me), it means a few things.

1. I'm free to be a jerk like how the late Steve Jobs could get away 99% of the time for all the wrong things he committed.

2. There was this sudden U-turn on my PC's condition last time round. Within 24 hours of getting a critical error for my Windows 10, Bill Gates decided to fix it for me. In other words, it's really true that he's impressed by my constant show of creative genius and that he wants to be my friend.

3. This also means that everybody from my family to my workplace colleagues actually knows the truth behind my super mignonne legal housebreaker. Not to mention her actual identity as well (note: I think I know who she is and that she's been holding a torch for me since 2013. Sounds a bit like how Tohsaka Rin came to fall in love with Emiya Shirou). And yes, it also means even my churchmates know about her.

4. Basically, it means I'm globally famous and that my sis is guilty of mistaking her bro for Job. Every online gamer can be my witness when I say stuff like YouTube can kill off your gaming experience for good. That plus my internet connection has been quite erratic lately whenever she did the same thing. Fortunately, I'm not Frankish and she's not a Roman. However, I'm perfectly capable of thinking like some tactician named Diego Simeone.

Note: Since I decided to assume the role of a certain Jew from Jewtown, I might as well tag the same bunch of people upon reposting all my chapters of A Requiem from Winter Past. Will most likely do so upon upping the next chapter.

Add note: Apparently, the lads at Boro are more capable of making my day than my sis. After all, the bandwidth leeching has gotten from bad to worse due to my internet being affected as well. Ah well, at least I was rightfully compensated for quitting one of my Tiamat raids.

List of powers and feats (Ranger)
In this post, I'll do a list of powers and feats for the ranger class. Whether or not my concept ideas will be improved is a matter of the future.
Good question, girl. How about that guy from the Far Far East whom I want to work with?
In other news, a recent bout of emotional distress has given me some ideas when it comes to Tiamat and raiding her temple. With that being said, Elminster playing time travel sounds like Ed Greenwood being possessed by the ghost of H.G Wells. Then again, I can easily pull off an excuse to legitimize the whole time travel bs.

A/N: Sakaguchi-san starting a new studio with Mr Bill's dollar bills? Let me hazard a guess... Dawnwalker will most likely be used to develop game apps for Samsung since the company needs to have a brilliant genius to bail them out ever since that A-bomb of their own making. Actually, it may not only be those Koreans from the south... As for Mistwalker d'Aloha, perhaps it will be given more chance to develop console games with Mistwalker d'Tokyo helping out on both ends.

Add A/N: Before Sakaguchi-san decides whether to give me a dream job in the same manner before Middlesbrough decides whether to do the same, I'll need to discipline myself in terms of balancing my gaming time and creativity time. And yes, I have to do this alone in the same way I've been doing so for the past 4 years or so.
We all know this is merely fan art, we all know Archer was meant to be forever alone like me(?)...
