Potential vs sheer genius? ネバーウィンターの勇者伝説~Concepts of something already existent [Mk V]

It's always gutting whenever we read something amounting to "so-and-so did something super retarded and got punished for it". Not so recently, something like this happened. If this guy repents, at least it'll be a good start. Better to repent now than risking a/another staycation in Changi. However, the whole potential statement from the defence counsel sounds eerily like whoever the guy defending that infamous Brock Turner of the Stanford fame. Lest we forget, potential bereft of integrity is a recipe for trouble. After all, Chem Ali also had potential. That's why Saddam Hussein told him to gas the Kurds.

In other news, history repeated itself yesterday. Let me just say that if any of the away fans were guilty of causing trouble, there's no point for me to play the devil's advocate. Which basically means I'd have no reason whatsoever to play the devil's advocate for the home fans as well. Let's hope the powers-that-be start doing something before the other 18 teams start exacting vengeance for us. After all, I may have tactically destroyed Slaven Bilić last Saturday (hopefully not though).

A/N: I suddenly noticed that a couple of Miss Universe Singapore contestants like their guys to be brainy instead of brawny. Weirdly enough, I've got this hunch that my beautiful legal housebreaker used to be part of the MUS pageant together with Rebecca Lim. Okay, I must be getting paranoid here.

The frequency of server non-response is too damn high!
Long story short, my sis is at it again. Long story short, my gaming experience got compromised. Long story short, perhaps the problem lies in SingTel. Long story short, maybe Cryptic hired someone to put my characters under surveillance. After all, all they need to do is to do a few Snapchat clips on whatever insanely GAR performance from yours truly in-game. Then just upload the whole damn thing and share it on public throughout the community, Either way, someone owes me an apology. Either way, I know that apology will come in the near future. Either way, I'm looking forward to a better internet broadband plan than the one my family is having now.

A/N: I'm gonna troll my sis by tagging her (and a few others) for this blog post on FB. If nothing happens, it means I'm really unofficially (and globally) famous as a genius. Not only that, this would also further confirm the fact(?) that she knows the identity of my beautiful legal housebreaker.

Just a bit of stuff before I go sleep...
Welcome to the Neverwinter Six saga, a tale of six heroes (including heroines as well) who may easily be the "reincarnation" of the renowned Neverwinter Nine during the days of Lord Nasher Alagondar. Before I continue, let me comment on the latest PPAP vid. Despite being upped more than a month ago, it's only a month later that it went... well, viral. Let me just say that the Japanese seem to have some weird kind of creativity. I'm very sure the twin girls doing their own PPAP are actually Japanese. To hear them lip-synch according to the original act's voiceover is... well, creepy (for a lack of a better word). And to think that they're really a pair of beautiful twins. At the same time, is it really possible for a pen to copulate with a fruit?

Okay, time to get serious...
This post will be about some minor tweaks on the paragon class. And together with that, some ideas on the character profiles (i.e. the Six).

Firstly, I've got no plans to change how the paragon class system works for the created characters. As for the fixed PCs (i.e. the Six), it'll be slightly different. To set the record straight, paragon classes for the fixed PCs will be given according to how their individual character paths unfold (note: this also applies to any secondary class).

However, the player can have a choice to skip this phase. In other words, playing the individual character path right from ground zero is a matter of choice. It really depends on whether you prefer playing the game for the fun or outcome.

Also, I'm gonna take a leaf out of the Original Sanders. Just not so soon.

A/N: Not to be confused with any potential Third Degree Bern. Credit for this original Sanders move goes to some friend of a friend of mine. FB can be really confusing at times in the same way you can never second guess accurately a girl's heart.

Layout of skills, powers, and feats
I may have done this before. However, I prefer to just do another total recall. Powers are classified under three types. Namely, at-will, encounter, and daily. At-will powers can be executed as many times as the player likes without worrying about cooldown. Encounter powers are more potent, but with the drawback of cooldown. Daily powers can only be used once per day, but also the most powerful type of power available.

Skills are character specific feats. In other words, this does not apply to created characters (i.e. characters created via character creation).

As for feats, they're basically passive powers.

Another feature of note is the presence of rank points. Each feat and power have a maximum of 5 ranks available with 1 rank point used per increase in rank. However, skills do not qualify under this rule as there is only 1 rank for every skill.

Various modes
Tales of the Six
This is basically the gaming aspect of the game (pardon the pun). Not only will you be able to play through the game in its entirety, you can choose to do so either via your created characters or the fixed PCs available. Fixed PCs unlocked in-game will be available in this mode.

Birth of a hero
Character creation. In other words, it's all about rolling the stats and deciding the details both major (i.e. choice of race) and minor (choice of looks).

Songs of a Harper
Relive the songs of heroism sung by Jay, a Harper bard. Replay the various stages you have already completed. Earn achievements yet to be unlocked and engage enemies via any character (fixed or otherwise) of your choice.

Challenge of Dweomerheart
Something is not right and it's afoot in Toril. The realm of Mystra may have been rebuilt through an alliance forged between the Mother of all Magic and the Seldarine, but a lack of stability persists. Seemingly gifted with life through the chaotic power of the Feywild, all who enter are forced to relive battles of yore and conflicts forgotten. Play through the dungeons and battles already fought. But with increased difficulty this time round.

Mirror of Lyonsbane
Whether or not the god of death has truly put behind him a cruel past called love may be irrelevant, but one can never deny Kelemvor's days as a Lyonsbane. And neither can one deny the fact that both he and Mystra used to love each other as man and woman. Relive various cutscenes defining the lives of the Six and those around them. At the same time, there will be a list of in-game music available.

Keep of the Gray Wolf
The Gray Wolf Tribe has been liberated from the bondage of Shar. In a show of gratitude, they offer the worthy various parts of Vellosk. This is where all your created characters will be housed with the option of bringing them out to train. Not just against dummies, but also whatever enemies left in the aftermath of Shar's corruption.

Enclave of the Lord Protector
Share idle talk and tactical tips for challenges to come. All things are permissible for the players who just want to chill around, doing nothing. Random mini-games spanning throughout the Protector's Enclave will be available through the Moonstone Mask on a half-hourly basis. Please do mind the profanity filter enforced and the mods themselves.

Autobot(ting)
Nothing to do with botting, sorry to disappoint all the Diablo haters. Nothing to do with Transformers, sorry to disappoint any fan of Optimus/Rodimus Prime. Not to mention fans of Arcee as well.

It's 100% legal, it's called auto-combat. Every character will auto-trigger this aspect of gameplay upon attacking any enemy or performing a combat related action (i.e. usage of buff potions and scrolls). Auto-combat is done via a 3 hit animation after which a 4th hit will be executed. There will be a brief period of cooldown where your character can execute any power. Upon doing this, auto-combat will be reactivated. The animation from the 1st to 3rd hit can be cancelled into any power, be it at-will, encounter, or daily. However, the 4th hit cannot be cancelled in any way or form.

Numbers game
Ok, let me count...

Come the 1st level, you'll have two at-will powers, four encounter powers, and two daily powers. At the same time, you'll also have two feats available. But here's the catch: You'll only get them at rank 1. Not only that, your character will only start getting rank points per every 4 levels. To complicate things just a wee bit, the number of rank points available depends on your character's Intelligence stat.

However, you'll get to unlock new powers and feats per every 4 levels (again!). More specifically 2 of each (i.e. at-will powers, encounter powers, and feats). As for daily powers, you'll unlock a new one at level 10, 20, and 40 respectively.

Above rule applies to both created and fixed PCs.

A/N: For fixed PCs, skills will be unlocked via certain in-game conditions met.

Where the game will stop...
Tentatively, the first game will stop at the Feywild arc. After which the next game, War of Darkness [闇の戰爭] will focus on the Dread Ring and Icewind Dale campaign. Third game, Lies and Tempest [嘘と荒れ] will focus on the Cult of the Dragon and Elemental Evil storylines. Fourth game in the series,  Of Chaos and a Throne [混沌と王座] will focus on the Underdark and Maze Engine campaigns. And lastly (or rather currently), Signet of Thrym [スリムの印環] will focus on the Storm King's Thunder storyline (including the upcoming Mod 10.5 release for Nov 8).

P.S: Need to stop now. Getting late, need to sleep. I swear biphasic/polyphasic sleeping habit is pseudo-illegal in Singapore (or at least in the context of.my current job as a blue collar worker in SGH). Which is a sad thing because such a "law" compromises my maximum efficiency. Maybe that's why my parents would at times nag at me for staying up late. Don't blame me, blame my brain.

Add P.S: Yes, I know what I promised last time round. I'm pretty sure my beautiful legal  housebreaker would hate a lying boyfriend, but I swear it's unintentional. Below is my compensation.

Above song is my ideal battle theme for the first game.
